About

Marina is a trained barrister who has worked for the Crown Prosecution Service and in the public, voluntary and NHS sectors. She is an active GMB trade unionist. Before her election to the London Assembly in 2021, she represented Crystal Palace on Bromley Council from 2018 to 2021.

Proudest achievements

• Writing Growing Hungry, a report calling for free school meals for every primary school child in London. The policy was subsequently adopted by the Mayor of London and is now national Labour policy.

• Scrutinising the Metropolitan Police’s use of artificial intelligence and supporting neighbourhood policing.

• Campaigning on road safety at Tulse Hill and for better local bus services, including the 63 and 484.

Priorities

• Step-free access at stations across Lambeth and Southwark.

• Working with the Metropolitan Police to tackle antisocial behaviour, theft and robbery.

• Tackling noisy motorbike meet-ups on the South Bank.

• Improving the policing of protests that intimidate residents.
